Shooting at Los Angeles Airport, One Person Killed

Daily Mirror Online - Los Angeles - A gunman opened fire with assault rifles in a terminal at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday . The incident killed a transportation security agent and wounding at least six people .

After turmoil incident took place at the airport . The effect was airlines stopped and emptied terminal . The streets around the Los Angeles airport is also closed .

" Someone came to the airport 's terminal 3 , took an assault rifle from a bag and opened fire started in the terminal , " said Patrick Gannon , Los Angeles Airport Police Chief , at press conference .

Spokesman for the U.S. Transportation Security Administration said on Twitter , one of his agents were killed in shootings and another was injured . However , the tweet was later deleted .

Previously , the Los Angeles Times and ABC News quoted law enforcement officials report that an agent was killed .

A spokesman for the Los Angeles fire department said seven people were injured and six of them were taken to hospitals in the area .

Los Angeles police spokeswoman Norma Eisenman said a suspect has been arrested and is believed to be the sole perpetrator in the attack .

Three men who are victims of the attack was taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center . One person was declared in critical condition and two others in the medium , said Mark Wheeler , a spokeswoman for the hospital .

Conditions of the other victims or the gunman is still unclear . President Barack Obama had been notified of the incident and White House officials to make contact with law enforcement officers in the field , said White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters
