In a new policy issued by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration or the Federal Aviation Administration , explained that gadgets such as smart phones , iPad , DVD and vide game machine will be operational throughout the domestic and international flights .
Phone calls are still not allowed but the passengers are allowed to read , work , play games , watch movies and listen to music . Surfing the internet will also be allowed while in the air if the passenger airline that provides network using in-flight wireless internet .
Heavier electronic devices such as laptops remain to be put in the cabin or under the seat when the plane off or landing ramps .
Ban use of electronic devices below 10,000 feet or approximately 3 kilometers regulated since half a century ago because of concerns that the use of electronic devices can interfere with sensitive cockpit equipment .
In the late 1950s , a study showed that the use of radio navigation radar passengers could intervene . Since then , all airplanes banned the use of electronic devices during flight .
However , although it is now more stringent regulations loose , this policy will be left to each airline whether they will allow the use of electronic equipment .
