Jakarta - The United States is known intercepting and monitoring electronic communications in Southeast Asia through the facilities of spies spread their embassies in several countries in the region , including its embassy in Jakarta , Australian media reported , Sydney Morning Herald ( SMH ) cites data leaked Edward Snowden .
In its report on Tuesday ( 29/10 ) , SMH wrote that the U.S. has 90 facilities that could spy intercepting electronic communications around the world , including at the U.S. embassy in Jakarta , which is located at Jalan Medan Merdeka , Central Jakarta .
Besides in Jakarta , the U.S. has a similar facility in Kuala Lumpur , Bangkok , Phnom Penh and Yangon . As of August 2010 , not found in similar fasilias closest ally countries like Singapore , New Zealand , and Japan .

France and Germany both have asked for an explanation to the government of Barack Obama . If France has summoned the U.S. ambassador in Paris , Germany and even sent its intelligence agency heads to Washington to ask for clarification .
